Our Story

Teehee Engineering, Inc. (TEI) is a certified EDWSB Native American, General Contractor located in Orange County, CA. TEI is a privately held General Contractor that has been providing service exclusively to the U.S. Government since our company was founded in 2002. We have structured our company systems, procedures and hire construction professionals with extensive military construction experience and share our commitment to delivering outstanding workmanship and service.

We are proud to construct projects that support our military personnel and their operations. We strive to deliver projects that will contribute to a better quality of life for our U.S. military personnel and provide functional, reliable, and maintainable facilities in which they work and train. Our ability to successfully complete projects in varied geographic markets serves is a testament to the reliability and professionalism of the Teehee team and our commitment to building a better tomorrow. As a verification to our dedication, TEI was honored by the SBA with the Minority-Owned Small Business of the Year Award for 2014.

Native American Heritage - Where the Name "Teehee" Came From

The owner of the company, Deborah Hamilton, is a proud member of the Cherokee Nation who wanted to honor her beloved Grandmother Dorothy Teehee. Dorothy Teehee was a "Woman of Faith" who passed on her love and knowledge to the younger members of her family.

Dorothy often educated them on the importance of protecting their culture, knowing their ancestry, and instilling the values of integrity, responsibility and reliability. Her life was an example to the younger generation and an inspiration to all that she came in contact with.

Houston B. Teehee

Teehee wants to acknowledge another Native American ancestor, Houston B. Teehee. He served as the United States Treasurer under President Woodrow Wilson's administration from 1915 to 1919. His signature can be found on paper currency during this time period.

Our in-house capabilities, proven management systems, dedication to safety at all times, commitment to sustainability, and our outstanding project teams have earned us a reputation as an outstanding SBA approved general contractor. We have broad experience in a wide array of delivery methods including design-build and design-bid-build.

Since the beginning, we have completed over 40 design-build projects under various IDIQ and standalone contracts, exceeding the level of experience of most graduated 8(a) and small business contractors.

Our goal which we have achieved and strive maintain is to have all of our Superintendents and Site Safety & Health Officers (SSHO) exceed the minimum requirements of the latest USACE EM385 1-1 manual and our trade labor having individually a minimum of an OSHA 30-hours certification of training.

Our health and safety functions are fully integrated into our overall management organization and structure. We believe that safety training is paramount to the overall safe delivery of every project. Our goal which we have achieved and will strive to maintain is to have all of our Superintendents and Site Safety and Health Officers (SSHO) at Level 3 or higher and our trade labor having individually a minimum of an OSHA-30 hours certification of training.
